I’ve been there and I completely get it, weddings are expensive! The flowers, the dress, the venue, the photographer – everything adds up sooo fast. I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t HAVE to be expensive. Here’s 5 simple ways you can cut your wedding costs.
Choosing a Venue that hosts both your ceremony and reception. You know the saying, kill two birds with one stone. When you choose to host your ceremony and reception at the same venue, you eliminate additional expenses as well as time. The time and cost of transportation can be removed from your budget and timeline, giving you more time to enjoy your wedding day.
Choose a Less Popular Date/Season. Choosing to have your wedding on a Friday or Sunday will save you tons. And the same goes for choosing the time of season you plan to have your wedding. Most venues offer special pricing for those dates/times of the year. Plus, winter weddings are so beautiful!
Ask a Family Member or Friend to Officiate. Asking a family member or friend to officiate your wedding is not only cost saving, but also so personal. Having someone close to you perform your ceremony will be more meaningful and memorable then hiring an officiate who doesn’t even know you.
Skip the Program & Menu Cards. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on those gorgeous programs and menu cards, completely skip it! Use a large chalkboard or sign to display all your information for you guests to see.
Rethink Favors. Favors can be a huge waste of money. So may guests tend to forget their favors on the table, especially if it’s not something they would use in the future.
